Baton Rouge Splash Pads, Pools and Water Parks :: A Guide For Families

Repentance Park Fountains :: Located downtown in front of the Shaw Center for the Arts, these interactive fountains will leave Baton Rouge kids jumping for joy. There is also another great fountain for playing and splashing in the North Blvd Town Square.

BREC Splash Pads :: There are a few BREC Parks with Baton Rouge splash pads! They are open March 30 – October 15 from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Individual locations listed below!

• Greenwood Community Park – This park near the Baton Rouge Zoo in Baker also features a playground, picnic area, golf, disc golf, dog park, walking trails, tennis courts and a fishing lake.
• City-Brooks Community Park – Near LSU and offering a playground, picnic area, dog park, tennis courts, baseball & soccer fields, golf course, outdoor basketball court, walking paths, and fishing lake.
• Forest Community Park – *This splash pad is currently down for repairs. Reopen date TBD* This park is located in the southeastern part of East Baton Rouge Parish. Forest Community Park serves a larger geographic area than a neighborhood park and is designed to engage the entire family for a whole day.
• Highland Road Community Park – In addition to the splash pad, this park also features a playground, disc golf, tennis court, indoor basketball, and the Highland Road Observatory. If you are visiting Baton Rouge with kids, this is a great choice because of the other activities on site!
• North Sherwood Forest Community Park – Located on N. Sherwood Forest Drive, this park features an indoor, air-conditioned walking track, playground, spray pad, fishing lake, fitness center, and a basketball court.
• Zachary Community Park – Zachary Community Park splash pad can be activated with a brass push button on the three foot yellow pole located in the splash pad spray area and is practically brand new! There are lots of other amenities like a walking trail as well. This is sure to be a favorite Baton Rouge splash pad.
• Jackson Community Parc– located in Central right off of Sullivan Road, this park features slides, climbing apparatuses and a variety of equipment. There is an area for parents to sit and watch their children or they can join in the fun, too!

BREC Swimming Pools (for swimming in Baton Rouge with kids) :: 

Open for the Season: May 25, 2024
Closed for the Season: August 4, 2024
Wednesday-Sunday: 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Cost :: FREE

Pool hours are subject to change based on operations and/or inclement weather. There is no cost for entry to these facilities.

• Brooks Pool – City-Brooks Community Park
• Howell Pool – Howell Community Park Pool will be closed for the 2024 season
• Anna T Jordan Pool – Anna T Jordan Community Park

BREC’s Liberty Lagoon :: Liberty Lagoon features water fun for the whole Baton Rouge family and includes slides, pools, a splash pad, a lazy river and more. This is a MUST if you are in Baton Rouge with kids.

Opening Saturday, April 27! The park will be open on weekends only until May 19. Summer hours of operation will start on May 25 and extended dates will go through October 12. Secure your spot in your selected session by purchasing your tickets online!

Active Military & First Responders (Police, Fire, Sheriff, etc) w/ ID – $10
General Entry – $12

Jambalaya Park Spray Pad and Pool :: Located in Gonzales, this park offers both a splash pad and a swimming pool! **All hours subject to change for weather related reasons**

Opening Dates for 2024 Season has not been decided, however; look forward to this toward the end of May.

Swimming Pool :: Single entry passed are required for every person entering the facility. Single-entry passes are $7/person per day.

Oak Grove Community Center Splash Pad :: This park has a splash pad, playground, and basketball courts and is located at Hwy 42 and Hwy 73 in Prairieville. Also, there is a small skate park next door that is perfect for beginners!

Blue Bayou Water Park :: Off of Highland in Baton Rouge, Blue Bayou features more than 20 water attractions including the world’s largest upside down water slide and frequent concerts. Check the website for hours of operation. Opens for the 2024 season on May 24th!Cost ::

AquaPards Water Park :: Located in Denham Springs and will feature a staggered opening. The Park will open for the 2024 season beginning the second weekend of May (the 11th) on Saturdays and Sundays only until school summer breaks start. Then the park will be open Monday – Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm, and Sunday from 12:00-5:00pm.

SPAR WATERPARK :: Nestled on the west side of Calcasieu Parish, just outside of Sulphur city limits, you will find the areas best way to escape the Louisiana summer heat! There is something for everyone, whether you are interested in speeding down an adrenaline-pumping waterslide, drifting along a peaceful lazy river in an inner tube, or entertaining the kids at Parrot Island! Check the website for hours of operation. The waterpark opens May 25th for Sulphur residents and beginning of June for non-residents!
