2017 Guide to Easter Events in Baton Rouge

When it comes to Baton Rouge, there’s always something to celebrate! We’ve partied through Mardi Gras, Spring has sprung (well, it’s kind of been Spring pretty much all year long, but you catch the drift) and now it’s time to celebrate Easter! But who has time to look up all the Easter events in and around our city? Don’t worry! We’ve done the leg work for you and found some great Easter activities that you and your families are sure to love. To make sure you don’t miss a single Easter activity, we’ve listed these events in chronological order so you can have an eggstra good time in March and April!


Lil Bambino’s Hop-a-thon {Thursday, March 16th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm} :: During this special play time, Lil Bambinos will have a variety of “hopping” games for the kiddos to play, as well as prizes! The Hop-a-thon is being hosted to raise funds to supply kids at OLOL with Easter baskets. What a great cause! Tickets are $10 plus tax per child.

Ascension Parish Library Gonzales and Donaldsonville Branches Easter Egg Garland Make and Take {Saturday, March 18th from 9:00am to 11:30am} :: Designed for children of all ages, this special craft day will have your little one creating a pretty pastel garland that you can hang in your home to decorate for Easter.

Mall of Louisiana Easter Bunny Photos {Thursday, March 23rd to Saturday, April 15th} :: Commemorate the season with a photo of your little one with the Easter Bunny. You can even schedule your visit ahead of time online! Prices vary by package selected. 

Ascension Parish Library Dutchtown Branch Easter Egg Garland Make and Take {Saturday, March 25th from 9:00am to 11:30am} :: Children of all ages are invited to come to the library to create a special Easter garland make and take craft, which they’ll be proud to display in your home.

The Baton Rouge – Louisiana Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Bunny Hop Brunch {Sunday, March 26th from 10:30am to 1:00pm} :: Bring the whole family down for a variety of Easter related events including a children’s fashion show, photographs with the Easter Bunny, games and an Easter Egg Hunt. Tickets are $15 for children and $38 for adults. Proceeds benefit The Louisiana Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. 

BREC’s Plank Road Park Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt {Friday, March 31st from 6:30pm to 9:00pm} :: Bring your flashlight for the ultimate Easter egg hunt around. In addition to hunting for eggs, the evening will include themed recreational games, a visit from the Easter Bunny himself and much more!

Java Mama Breakfast with the Bunny {Saturday, April 1st from 9:30am to 11:00am} :: Come out to play at Java Mama, enjoy a pancake breakfast, participate in an Easter egg hunt and get a visit from the Easter Bunny! Tickets are $10 for children 6 months to 11 months and $15 for children 12 months and older.

Cortana Mall Easter Eggstravaganza {Saturday, April 1st from 10am to noon} :: Come out for a morning of fun including an Easter egg hunt, bouncy houses, face painting and a ballon artists. What a great Easter event!

East Baton Rouge Parish Library Carver Branch Bunny Craft {Tuesday, April 4th from 4:30pm to 5:00pm} :: Kids ages 6 to 8 are invited to come for a reading of It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny and then make a bunny-on-a-stick craft. Seating is limited for this event, and pre-registration is required. 

Healing Place Church Special Needs Eggstravaganza {Saturday, April 8th 9:00am to 12:30pm} :: This free community event is a an Easter party for Baton Rouge kids with special needs.

Java Mama Breakfast with the Bunny {Saturday, April 8th from 9:30am to 11:00am} :: Come have a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny himself. Enjoy free play at Java Mama and search for Easter eggs. Children 6 months to 11 months are $10 each, and children 12 months and older are $15 each.

BREC’s Highland Road Park Community Egg Hunt {Saturday, April 8th from 10:00am to Noon} :: Come on out for an Easter egg hunt that is sure to include a lot of family fun! This event will also include arts and crafts, themed recreational games and a visit from the Easter Bunny. 

East Baton Rouge Parish Library Bluebonnet Regional Branch Bunny’s Easter Egg {Saturday, April 8th from 10:30am to 11:30am} :: Perfect for kids ages 4 to 8, this story time and craft event will include a reading of the book, Bunny’s Easter Egg, followed by an Easter bunny flag craft. Pre-registration is required.

East Baton Rouge Parish Library Pride-Chaneyville Branch Welcome Spring {Saturday, April 8th from 2:30pm to 3:30pm} :: Designed for children ages 6 to 9, this afternoon event will include a reading of the book, The Story of the Easter Bunny, followed by a special craft in which kids will make their very own wooden beaded Easter egg necklace. Pre-registration is required.

Easter Egg Hung & Fundraiser at Central Square {Saturday, April 8th from 10:00am to 1:00pm} :: With face painting, Easter portraits and two egg hunts, for ages infant to 4 and 5 & up, this event is in honor of Olivia Grace who is battling Batten disease. 

LSU’s Rural Life Museum An Old Fashioned Easter Celebration {Sunday, April 9th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm} :: Kids ages 2 to 8 are invited to explore the Easter traditions of Louisiana. The event will include egg dying, egg pacquing, leg races and an Easter egg hunt. Admission is $5 per person. Children under 2 are free.

East Baton Rouge Parish Library Delmont Gardens Branch Easter Bunny Mask Storycraft {Tuesday, April 11th from 4:00pm to 5:00pm} :: Perfect for kids of all ages, this afternoon will include a reading of the Easter book, It’s Easter, Chloe Zoe! and the creation of paper plate Easter bunny masks.

East Baton Rouge Parish Library Carver Branch Where Eggs Come to Dye {Tuesday, April 11th from 4pm to 5pm} :: This event, designed for teens, will include dying Easter eggs with a special twist. Come home with some uniquely made, marble swirl eggs.

Healing Place Church Kids After Party {Saturday, April 15th from after the 2pm and 5pm services} :: Join the afternoon Easter services at Healing Place Church and stay for a special Easter Kids After Party. Free to the public.
