We just LOVE this time of year! I think every mom can agree there is a feeling of excitement all around us. Maybe you love finding the perfect gift for your loved ones; maybe you love seeing the lights/hearing the music of the season; or maybe you just love being around extended family and close friends. I think we can all agree that this is the time of year where we want to just soak up every minute and really CONNECT to the life around us.
This holiday season, Red Stick Moms Blog wants to help you, your family, and our Baton Rouge community CONNECT! We want to inspire you with new ways to spend meaningful time together, and we want to equip you with actual ways to CONNECT in person and as a community.
We have some exciting posts coming from our contributors this month that will explore the topic of CONNECTION and get us all thinking outside the box when it comes to spending time with our children, family and friends, as well as those in our community.
- Read about connecting in a tech world here

We will also be hosting TWO very fun events that focus on ways to CONNECT! The first event is a special-edition, Friday Night Food Truck Wround Up on December 13th. We will be hosting some of the best food trucks in Baton Rouge at Westdale Heights Academic Magnet (WHAM). This is a time to connect as a family and a community. We also ask that you join us in donating a new, unwrapped toy to Operation: Christmas Angels, which will benefit the children of those serving in the LA National Guard. And come early, because SANTA IS COMING!!!
The second event is all about connecting with our children. We will be hosting a FREE Music Together class on December 19th given by the Children’s Music Studio. This is a 30-minute class designed to get young children and their parents learning, exploring, and enjoying music together. The music class will be held at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore (2nd Floor) on LSU’s Campus. We will also be providing holiday crafts for the kids, snacks, and coffee. Space is limited for this event, so please be sure to reserve your spot by emailing us at [email protected].
We hope you will join us online and in-person this holiday season to CONNECT and make this year the most memorable yet!
