The Best Frozen Yogurt in Baton Rouge

All this week we are tasting and judging the yummiest treats in Baton Rouge to find you the best of the bestmom (and kid) approved! For each place we tested, we considered flavor, texture/quality, kid-friendly atmosphere, service, and our overall experience. It wasn’t easy (since each place is awesome), but somebody had to do it. :)

When given the chance to find the best anything edible in Baton Rouge, what pregnant woman could really resist?  I mean really, how fun would an entire day filled with endless amounts of frozen yogurt be for the boys, my niece… and myself?!  Definitely unlike any other day in our household.  We started early, mapped out our stops and dove in head first in our quest to find the best frozen yogurt in Baton Rouge. We visited Dream Berrie Cafe, Counter Culture, Yogurtland, and Tutti Frutti. Read through to see how each one scored and who had our favorite! Here’s the scale we used from lowest to highest: :( :? :| :) :D

Dream Berrie Cafe

This was our first stop.  Nestled off Sherwood Forest near Coursey, we walked up to a covered patio area that was perfect for sitting outside on a nice day.  Entering, we were greeted by super friendly servers that were willing to help with anything we needed.  They had a huge selection of flavors and tons of toppings to choose from (obviously one of the kids’ favorite parts).  There was more room and seating than our little crew of five could have asked for making it very accommodating for a family with children.  To all of us, their frozen yogurt was super icy compared to our other stops.

Dream Berrie 2Counter Culture

Located off Perkins, getting there wasn’t the easies,t but once we parked we were good to go.  Counter Culture had a really nice open seating area that wasn’t too crowded making it really great for families with children.  Our service was great and everyone was really friendly and accommodating.  We snuck in lunch while there (DELISH btw) and the fact that they offered to serve us our frozen yogurt when we were done so it didn’t melt, was really thoughtful to us.  The only downside was they only offered three flavors that day compared to the ten or so our other stops offered. However, their fresh fruit was unlike any other…and with fruit being my craving with this pregnancy, this made my pregnant day!

Tutti Frutti

They are located off of Bluebonnet in an area that isn’t ideal if traffic isn’t your friend, but otherwise it was great! To us, it came in a close second to our top choice. The service was great and the atmosphere was really charming.  There was a good bit of seating and even a patio, but they only provided tables to seat three so we had to do a little arranging for us all to be able to sit together.  Tutti Frutti had a really great selection of flavors and tons of toppings, so anyone could find something they liked.  Their frozen yogurt was super creamy and not icy at all.

Yogurtland

Their available seating was less than any other place we had visited, making it a tad hard for a family to visit.  Somehow, we snuck in at a time that wasn’t too busy and were able to pull together a couple of tables for our party of five to sit.  Yogurtland not only offered the most flavor choices but the quality of their frozen yogurt was so creamy and perfect.  Of course, toppings!  They had tons to choose from.  Yogurtland1

The Winner

To me, the winner was clear: Yogurtland! Not only was their yogurt perfectly creamy and toppings ample, but what set Yogurtland apart from the rest were the extra added touches.  They offer a cookie shaped perfectly to fit in a bowl so that two can split one bowl which is perfect for those hardheaded toddlers that want some crazy, strawberry lemonade-snicker-marshmallow-skittles-caramel topped concoction.  They also had fresh fruit infused water by the door available to anyone who wanted to wash down the sweetness.  Yogurtland got two thumbs up from everyone making it our most loved FroYo, so congrats Yogurtland!
